My Travel Journal

"There isn't much I haven't shared with you along the road and through it all there'd always be tomorrow's episode" - Elton John

I started traveling around the world since early 80s when I had the opportunity to combine business trips with vacations. Then later when my rezeki is in abundance, there were numerous other trips along the way for vacations, most of the time with hubby and the kids when the timing is right. I have also started to compile the journal and photo-pages covering almost more than 45 years of world wide travel. Some destinations I visited just once, others many times. Many of those places are the obvious famous places people would like to visit but some, the casual traveler doesn't even think to try. I have placed links to my travel at the side bar of my personal page, My Life Reflections, and will be updating them from time to time.

My wish is to continue my travel and complete circumnavigate the globe, insyaAllah…

Day 09: Tuesday, 15 Mar 2016
Route: Tehran – Zanjan – Tabriz
Distance: 635 km
Hotel: Pars Eligolo Hotel, Tabriz

It was raining heavily when we started our journey north towards Tabriz. The distance from Tehran to Tabriz is 635 km and the journey was quite monotonous.

(A wet morning to start the long-haul journey)
(A large patriotic painting on a building)
(Grafitti on the wall)
(A must stop at every check-point)

On the way to Tabriz we stopped at the town of Zanjan for lunch and performed our prayers at one of the mosques in town.

(Staying on the main highway)
(Policemen and their motorbikes)
(A lone windmill on barren land)
(Entering the town of Zanjan)
(A 5-star hotel of Zanjan)
(A water feature at the roundabout)
(A served lunch at the restaurant in Zanjan)
(One of the many mosque in Zanjan)
(Performed our prayers at a smaller mosque)
(Abundance of fruit stalls along the highway)
(The highway to Tabriz)
(Well-maintained highway heading north)
(Passing many dry rivers)
(Repairing leaking hose)

About an hour or two drive before entering the town of Tabriz we passed through some beautiful coloured mountains along the highway. Very little settlements were seen around the colourful landscape.

(Beautifully colored landscape)
(Brightly colored mountains and hills)
(Beautiful unique scenery)
(Dwellings at the hill slopes)

We arrived at Pars Eligolo Hotel in Tabriz early and had our buffet dinner at the hotel restaurant. It was snowing lightly and it was very windy and chilly.

(Late arrival at the hotel in Tabriz)
(Spacious comfortable lodging for two night)
(A short rest before a late dinner)
