“The journey of life is amazingly beautiful if you take it as a fearless adventure…” - Debasish MridhaDay 11: 14 October 2016 (Friday)
Distance: 595 km

The wake-up call was at 2:00 am. We had to rush as the National Army was ready to escort us out of Ghadaia.

It was a nice day to travel across the Sahara via the Trans-Sahara Highway. After last night’s sand storm the sky was clear and the air fresh. We stopped at a small restaurant in Laghouat along the route to perform Fajar payers and had our breakfast.

The rest of the journey to Algiers was uneventful with a few stops along the way. We passed through the towns of Laghouat, Djelfa, Medea and Blida. At each district there would be a change of National Guards to escort us.

It took us 12 hours to reach Algiers International Airport, in time for us to check in and board the plane to Doha onward flight to Kuala Lumpur.

We touched down at KLIA safely on Saturday afternoon. Alhamdulillah….
Some sights in Algiers were postponed to the last day but because of the flight cancellation from Ghardaia to Algiers, we missed out on the Algiers Casbah, Palais des Rais, Arts and Tradition Museum, Masjid Ali Bitchine, Sidi Abdelrahman Mausoleum, Museum Islam Caligraphy, Bardo Museum and the three famous mosques.
