My Travel Journal

I started traveling around the world since early 80s when I had the opportunity to combine business trips with vacations. Then later when my rezeki is in abundance, there were numerous other trips along the way for vacations, most of the time with hubby and the kids when the timing is right. I have also started to compile the journal and photo-pages covering almost more than 45 years of world wide travel. Some destinations I visited just once, others many times. Many of those places are the obvious famous places people would like to visit but some, the casual traveler doesn't even think to try. I have placed links to my travel at the side bar of my personal page, My Life Reflections, and will be updating them from time to time.

My wish is to continue my travel and complete circumnavigate the globe, insyaAllah…

2017 UK Trip: Southampton, England - Sinking of the Titanic...

From the historical site of Stonehenge we drove in the rain towards Southampton taking the A36 and M27 highways.

Southampton is a port city on England’s south coast. It is home to the SeaCity Museum, with an interactive model of the Titanic, which departed from Southampton in 1912. Nearby, Southampton City Art Gallery specialises in modern British art. Solent Sky Museum features vintage aircraft like the iconic Spitfire. Tudor House & Garden displays artifacts covering over 800 years of history, including a penny-farthing bike.

As it was raining quite heavily we ended up at John Lewis Shopping Mall in WestQuay. There is a food court in the mall but we decided to look for a Halal restaurant around Southampton Mosque.

Southampton Medina Mosque is the first built Mosque in the south of England. The building work started in 1990. The Mosque has been built with the donations of time and money by the Muslim community of Southampton on the land sold to the Muslim community by the local authorities. The Mosque first opened its doors to the public in 2001. It is one of the most recognised and noticeable religious buildings in the city of Southampton.

After performing our prayers in Medina Mosque Southampton we drove on M40 towards north and decided to check out Bicester Village Outlet Centre, a luxury village-style shopping area showcasing leading fashion brands at discounted prices.
