My Travel Journal

"There isn't much I haven't shared with you along the road and through it all there'd always be tomorrow's episode" - Elton John

I started traveling around the world since early 80s when I had the opportunity to combine business trips with vacations. Then later when my rezeki is in abundance, there were numerous other trips along the way for vacations, most of the time with hubby and the kids when the timing is right. I have also started to compile the journal and photo-pages covering almost more than 45 years of world wide travel. Some destinations I visited just once, others many times. Many of those places are the obvious famous places people would like to visit but some, the casual traveler doesn't even think to try. I have placed links to my travel at the side bar of my personal page, My Life Reflections, and will be updating them from time to time.

My wish is to continue my travel and complete circumnavigate the globe, insyaAllah…

Liverpool is a major city in North West England. Its surrounding areas combine to form the fifth largest metropolitan area in the UK. The local authority is Liverpool City Council, the most populous local government district within the metropolitan county of Merseyside and the largest within the Liverpool City Region.

Liverpool is the birthplace of the best band in the world, the Beatles. As a die-hard fans of the Beatles we have to visit them once we are in Liverpool.

The first stop was the Beatles Story in the Albert Dock, a fantastic visitor attraction dedicated to the Fab Four. The Beatles Story follows John, Paul, George and Ringo from their early beginnings to global Beatlemania and beyond. Allow several hours for your visit as there is so much to see.

Anyone coming to Liverpool for The Beatles should stop off at the world-famous Cavern Club on Mathew Street in the city centre. The Beatles played there nearly 300 times, and you can hear live music every day of the week, including the fabulous Cavern Beatles.

The Beatles-inspired luxury hotel, Hard Days Night Hotel, is just round the corner from the Cavern. At Blakes Restaurant, attached to the hotel, you can dine under original Beatles artworks.
The National Trust also runs a special joint tour of the childhood homes of John Lennon and Paul McCartney.

We visited Liverpool Al-Rahman Mosque situated on Hatherley Street, a short distance from our Travelodge. It can accommodate 2,500 people and serves as the main place of worship and focus point for Liverpool's Muslim population, estimated at 25,000 people. It is the first ever mosque in England. The mosque was refurbished by the local community beginning in 2010 and is now occupied by the Liverpool Muslim Society. The current building is used primarily by the city's Arab and Somali populations whom constitute the vast majority of Liverpool's Muslim population.
