My Travel Journal

"There isn't much I haven't shared with you along the road and through it all there'd always be tomorrow's episode" - Elton John

I started traveling around the world since early 80s when I had the opportunity to combine business trips with vacations. Then later when my rezeki is in abundance, there were numerous other trips along the way for vacations, most of the time with hubby and the kids when the timing is right. I have also started to compile the journal and photo-pages covering almost more than 45 years of world wide travel. Some destinations I visited just once, others many times. Many of those places are the obvious famous places people would like to visit but some, the casual traveler doesn't even think to try. I have placed links to my travel at the side bar of my personal page, My Life Reflections, and will be updating them from time to time.

My wish is to continue my travel and complete circumnavigate the globe, insyaAllah…

2016 Q5 4NR Day 05 : Koh Kong - Phnom Penh

Day 05: Thursday, 01 Dec 2016
Route: Koh Kong - Phnom Penh
Distance: 295 km
Hotel: Khmeroyal Hotel

After refuelling, by 8:45 am we rode towards Phnom Penh on highway 48 passing through the lonely winding road in the National Park and Cambodia’s unspoiled Cardamom Mountains Range. The road is in good condition and the ride was smooth.

By 11:30 am we reached the main junction. One road leads to the beach town of Sihanoukville. The other road, Route 4, lead to Phnom Penh. We arrived in Phnom Penh early noon. The road leading to the centre of town was busy with traffic.

We checked in Khmeroyal Hotel for USD25/night. After our showers and prayers, we walked a short distance to Warung Bali but it was closed in the afternoon. We went to a nearby Classical Halal Indian Restaurant for garlic nan and spicy fish curry. Their Manggo lassi was superb.

Later we strolled along the Mekong River for some photo shots and walked around the Royal Palace. As we were already full, we skipped dinner and slept early.
